If there is a manufacturing or installation fault, we’ll put it right.
Our 12-month guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship, including defective doors, floorboards and roof construction.
Where a roof leak is caused by a defect in the shed or its installation, we will repair or replace the affected components.
The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, inadequate foundations, accidental damage or lack of reasonable maintenance.

Every Harts Timber shed is supplied with a free factory-applied base coat. This provides initial protection, but for the best long-term protection we strongly recommend painting your shed with a suitable exterior wood treatment.

Essential Painting
Paint your shed as soon as possible, weather permitting.
- Exterior walls: Protects the timber from rain, sun and general weather exposure.
- Doors — inside and outside: Helps reduce moisture movement, swelling and general wear.
- Inside of the roof: Helps protect the roof boards from condensation and moisture build-up.
Optional Extra Protection
For even greater protection and a longer service life, you may also wish to paint:
- Internal wall cladding: Adds an extra layer of protection and can improve the appearance inside the shed.
- Floor: Helps protect against moisture, dirt and everyday wear, while also making the floor easier to clean.

Application Tips
- Do not paint when rain is forecast.
- Make sure the timber is reasonably dry before painting.
- Stir wood treatments thoroughly before and during use.
- Apply the recommended number of coats and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Regular Shed Checks
Check your shed regularly for signs of moisture, leaks or fungal growth.
- Moisture control: Deal with leaks or excessive condensation as soon as possible.
- Ventilation: Allow fresh air into the shed regularly, particularly during damp weather.
- Roof and felt: Check periodically for damage or signs of water ingress.
- Doors: Check that doors open and close freely and are not being affected by excessive moisture.
